This temple is the largest and most famous in Goa, was built in 1738 and is dedicated to Goddess Parvati, the wife of Lord Shiva.
The interiors of the temple are mainly of marble, While the beautifully constructed pagoda has a distinct influence of European architecture.
A six storyed Deepmal (Lamp Tower) can be seen right at the entrance.
Shri Mangesh, Priol
Situated at Priol in Ponda, The temple is dedicated to Lord Mangesh( a form of Shiva ).
Built in 18th Century is a local landmark and is one of most important Hindu temple.
The courtyard of the temple is dominated by a seven storied DeepStambha (Lamp Tower), which is undoubtedly most impressive in Goa.
Shri Kamakshi temple, Shiroda
According to Hindu mythology, Shri Kamakshi, was brought here from Kaurang (Kanchi). Thus it is dedicate to Goddess kamakshi.
The temple also has a subsidiary shrine dedicate to Rayeshwara in the temple complex.
Shri Mahadev Temple, Tambdi Surla
This temple was built in the 13th Century and is dedicated to lord Shiva.
The temple has a touch of Kadamba architecture, only of such kind in Goa. It has been built with black basalt (this rock is not found in Goa).
At the centre of the temple is a statue of the Nandi ( Lord Shiva's vehicle ),however, the head of the Nandi no longer exists, suggesting that there were attacks made on the temple.
